Meb Keflezighi wins ING New York City Marathon

Meb is the first American to win the New York City Marathon since 1982 when Alberto Salazar won.

Meb won with a time of 2:09:15 or 4 min 55 seconds per mile for 26.2 miles
Meb trains in Mammoth California with teammate Ryan Hall. Ryan finished 4th with a time of 2:10:35. Ryan Hall holds the 2nd fastest time ever at the Mt. Sac XC course 14:28 in 2000 at the CIF SS Finals, he ran 14:35 (8th fastest all time)the same year at CIF SS Prelims.

Meb sustained a stress fracture of his hip when running the Olympic Trials Marathon in 2007. After he finished he could barely walk and had to be carried to his hotel room. He underwent treatment and was out of running for 14 months. Meb has made quite a comeback!
