Coach Visokey on Yucaipa

Team,

Once again you were fantastic at Yucaipa. Congratulations to our varsity team for their second place finish in the Red Division. You shattered the school record on this course by 2:45 clocking a team time of 84:30, only losing to a very good Division 2 school. Our team time was a tie with the first place team. Both the varsity and frosh/soph team earned trophies with the frosh/soph team finishing in 4th place. At the varsity level outstanding performances were given by Scott Acton (15:59) winning first place, and Bryan Curtis (7th, 16:38). In the forsh/soph race Andrew Starksen finished 2nd with a time of 17:58. At the JV level all of you were outstanding, with every one of you getting new personal bests. The JV performances to highlight were Kyle Pounder and Blaine Bigler who shattered their personal best times on a tough Yucaipa course. This is one meet where I could highlight just about everyone.

Our varsity is well on the way to achieving our season goal. The varsity will not run all out again until Mt. Sac on October 22nd. We will focus on training for the next 3 weeks as we pursue Desert Christian’s first ever State Championship. Stay focused, practice good hygiene and nutrition, and do the workouts right. Congratulations on a great day.

In His Service,

Coach Visokey
