Coach Visokey on CIF Finals

Team,

Congratulations for the best finish in Desert Christian Boys Cross Country History. Your 2nd place finish at the CIF Southern Section Finals makes you the CIF Southern Section Runner-up. You guys were fantastic today. I have the beautiful plaque and we will pass it around this week and then turn it over to the School so that it can be displayed in the school lobby.

Congratulations to Bryan Curtis and Scott Acton for earning All-CIF honors. Bryan’s 6th place finish was tops on the team and I don’t think even the competition saw that coming. However, I was not one bit surprised. Scott Acton finished 9th which is fabulous after coming off of a sickness that gave him a fever earlier in the week. Thomas Waters also medaled with an outstanding 14th place finish. Ray Biggerstaff and Andrew Starksen came through for us big time finishing 38th and 45th respectively. I was very pleased with Zac Patten’s 56th place finish, and Josh Devore did well in 97th.

While we were significantly behind number one St. Margaret’s, we were also significantly ahead of number three Flintridge Prep, and we handily defeated Woodcrest Christian who finished 4th and has won 5 consecutive State Titles.

The times ran on average about 50 seconds slower than Mt. Sac, but keep in mind our 86:47 team time would have put us in 4th place in Division 4. That is outstanding!!! The 86:47 team time is fabulous for the 3.1 mile Mt. Sac rain course.

Now let’s get back to work and see if we can find a way to knock off number one St. Margaret’s and win ourselves a State Title next week in Fresno.

In His Service,

Coach Visokey
